The Cake

I had to post a quick pic of Mia's birthday cake. I'm a little ashamed to mention the number of hours it took to finally get this right . . . . but hey, I think it turned out pretty good and Mia ate off an entire ear!

Our baby girl is ONE!!!

Today is Mia's first birthday! Where has the time gone??? Yesterday I put her in her "birthday tutu" and attempted a few pictures. She LOVED it and got upset when I took it off. Mia has been such a joy to our little family. She's such a great baby . . . far better than Easton ever was (good thing he can't read yet). :0) Mia loves her new found mode of walking, playing in the tupperware cupboard, and popping out from behind the kitchen island to say "Ahh!" (Her form of "Boo!") She has the cutest little personality and keeps us entertained constantly!

Horrible Blogger Award

Lately I have totally neglected our family blog. *sigh* I have not posted in over 2 weeks, which is a long time for the self-proclaimed "regular" blogger that I am. We've been very busy around here lately but I promise to do better. Mia will be turning one this Thursday. I have no clue where the time has gone. She has grown up over night and has almost got the "walking" thing down. Stay tuned for some fun birthday pictures. I ordered the cutest birthday tutu ever from a lady on etsy and am SO excited to put her in it!!!

Micro Soccer

Easton has started to play soccer in a little 3-year old league. He absolutely loves it! As you can imagine, it's pretty hillarious to watch a bunch of 3-year old's run after the ball. I thought I would be able to just sit back and watch without getting a little competitive but it didn't last long. I was quick to take a mental note on all the things we needed to work on between then and the next practice so that he would play better than the other kids. :0) A competitive spirit never dies!

Tour de Round O . . . 100 miles of fun!

Last Saturday my friend Alice and I participated in the Tour de Round O ride. It was the first century (100 miles) ride for both of us and was lots of fun! We were actually on the bikes pedaling for 5 hours and 50 minutes! Our total time uncluding rest stops was 7 hours. Yes, the rear end does get a little sore after sitting that long. I'll admit that we had to stop often toward the end as it got VERY uncomfortable. :0) But alas, we finished! Another thing to cross off the list of events to do this year. The following pics are some taken while riding with my camera phone (not recommended).

Here are a few fun facts from the ride:

Total trip time (from start to finish): 7 hours

Average speed (beginning to mile 53): 16.8 mph

Average speed (mile 53 to finish): 15.3 mph

Max speed: 24 mph

What I ate/drank: *3 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches *10 fig newtons *2 packs of crackers (the kind with cheese and peanut butter) *1 granola bar *2 handfuls of trail mix *1/2 banana *1 gatorade *2 aero drinks full of Hammer Nurtition Perpetuem *2 bottles of water *4 refills on my water bottle *2 Hammer Gels
