OBSESSION

Easton has been totally and completely obsessed with the movie RATATOUILLE for a few weeks now. He calles it the "mouse." We watch it at least once a day and one day last week ended up watching it nearly 3 times just so I could keep my sanity. Everything is "mama . . . . mouse, please (or peas in Easton's language) mouse!" Mouse when we wake up, mouse when we get in the car, mouse when we eat. I can't esape the mouse! So, to all of my "experienced" friends. . . . I need some advice. Do these stages pass quickly? How long am I supposed to let him obsess over "the mouse?" Help!

Oh yeah-it will pass...onto something else. I actually read somewhere that their obbsession with a specific movie, book, or toy is a part of their natural development. They like the consistency & knowing what to expect-they find it soothing & relaxing. Maybe try introducing a different movie-my kids are on a Cars kick right now. Before that it was Shrek, & before that it was Nemo. SO, yes it will pass...onto something else! :0) Have Fun!

It will FOR SURE pass onto something else! Last year for months we watched CARS like 5 times a day. No joke, I could have screamed! Now it is all about Thomas the Train. I'm still waiting for him to get over this little obsession of his!

I think my mind works like a childs, because when we got that movie I was the one wanting to watch it all the time! I guess there are worse things that a kid could like? Good luck with that one.
