Co-ed Softball

Since arriving in St. George I have been playing on my brother's co-ed softball team. It just so happens that my sister KayDee and her husband, and my sister Shelbee and 2 cousins also play on the team. I seriously had to blow the layers of dust off my mitt to bring it out of retirement. High school softball was one of my favorite sports but it has been YEARS since I have played. I was a little nervous the first game but then started to get more comfortable (despite a few minor injuries, he he he). I feel too old to be trying to play like I'm 16 again but it was so much fun! Last week was the season-end tournament. We won the first game, lost the second, and won the third (yes, that was 3 games in a row in the hundred degree weather). Since it was double-elimination, we were to return the following week (yesterday) to finish out tournament play. Because of our loss, we would be a the bottom of the bracket. This ultimately translates to if we won the first game we would play a second and if we won the second we would play a third. Then, if we would the third we would have to win that team a second time since they are in the winners bracket with no losses. That's 4 games in a row people!!! So what happened you ask? Well, we showed up to play and went clear to the bank! 4 games in a row . . . all won by 10 runs or more. It was awesome!!!! I really had a fun time playing and even more so playing with family and friends. We can't wait to be back home!!!!

We had to have a picture with Grandma Frei. She was our good luck charm and our main cheerleader!
