So, we had no luck in closing on the house early but we are all set to close tomorrow at 11:00. Hooray! We did our final walk-through today and everything looks so great! Easton already knows which room is his. He calls it his "pirate room." Anyway, something that we thought would put a damper on our moving weather is all this hurricane action but it looks like we'll be in the clear. I've never been so into watching hurricanes/tropical storms in my life. Which, living in Utah, you really wouldn't need to be but South Carolina is a different story. Luckily the hurricanes tend to hit on the west side of Florida and into the gulf coast but occasionally give us a scare here on the east. Tropical storm "Hannah" is projected to be near the east coast come Tuesday or so of next week. One thing on my list of priorities after moving is to update and double check our emergency preparedness stuff and throw in some extras for hurricane stuff. Heaven forbid we ever have to use it!!! :)
Anyway, when I post again hopefully the house will be put together enough to post some pics of the inside. We also won't have internet access for a few days (how will I ever survive!?). My doctor gave me a big lecture today about moving and lifting things. I told her I would try my best to tone it down. It is hard to carry things with a big belly in the way anyway. :)

Anxiety
We had our walk-through on the house today. Everything looks awesome!!! Now we wait for them to do a few cosmetic touch-ups on Mon. & Tues. of next week and hopefully we'll get into closing a day or two early. Now I need to find little projects to work on to survive the "moving anxiety." We LOVE the new house and are so excited to get moved in!

Animal Planet Expo
On Saturday I took a mental/family health day by skipping out on Youth Conference and went to the Animal Planet Expo at the Fairgrounds with Scott and Easton. Besides the fact that it was hotter than a doornail and I was sweating all over the place, we had a lot of fun. First of all, it was FREE and free rocks! They had a whole bunch of little games the kids could play (some of them had prizes) as well as jump castles and slides. There were various displays set up with insects and reptiles. They had the larger animals up on a stage where they did the animal show. Right about the time we were leaving the "frisbee dogs" came out and were doing a demonstration. Easton's favorite thing was the huge crocodile slide. It looked way to huge for him to be able to climb up and not kill himself coming down but somehow he managed, more than a few times. We had to pry him away in order to go home. :)

Why I Didn't Make the Olympics
This video is hillarious!!! My father-in-law sent it in an email and Scott & I got the biggest kick out of it since we've been recording and watching ALL of the events going on in Beijing.

Observation
So, I've come to know that Easton is a lot smarter than I realize. The other night I turned on Pirates of the Carribean for him to watch while I selfishly attempted to finish reading Breaking Dawn. Scott was at a church meeting. It finally got time for Easton to go to bed. Typically turning off a "pirate" movie before it is finished is grounds for disaster. But, I told him we would "pause" the movie (he learned all about "pausing" from Aunt Shelbee while in St. George) and could finish it the next morning. Miraculously he seemed to be okay with this. Later on that night, about an hour after Easton went to bed, he started calling for Scott. Scott went in his room to see what he wanted and returned to our room with a big smile on his face. I aksed what Easton wanted. Scott said that he wanted to make sure I paused the pirate movie. :) When Scott told him that I did he said "OK, dad" and went to sleep. By the time morning rolled around I was positive that he would have forgotten all about the movie. But after waking up and giving me a hug he asked to watch the pirate movie once again! He is one pirate-crazed kid!

Garage Sale Anyone???
So, we are getting closer and closer to moving into the new house. August 29th is our closing date. In preparation to do so, I've decided to have my first ever garage sale. For some reason I don't like the term "garage" in the sale. To me it indicates junk. We really don't have a ton of stuff to try and sell but what we do have I do not consider to be junk. For example, a kitchen table in good, stable condition, a computer tower, couch and chair (we're converting to leather), tv w/remote, fully functioning palm pilot's and mp3 players, etc. Thought we'd try and get a little money out of a few things rather than donating them right away. Maybe I could call it a "moving sale?" At any rate, I've never done one of these things before. I have a few weeks to prepare. Any advice from any of you experienced (or not) garage sale holders? Do's, don'ts? :)

Fashion Fast
We're back in the lovely humidity of South Carolina. I still cannot decide which type of heat is worse after experiencing both. They are so very different. Thanks to everyone who made time to let us visit while in Utah. It was so good to see all of our family and friends. :)
I wanted to pass something along that I found to be pretty interesting. To some (that don't like shopping and fashion), it may not be, but I thought it was noteworthy and plan on checking in every now and then to see how it is coming. I got an email from a old high school friend that said the following: My sister-in-law (Cassandra) is going out on the limb and is doing a fashion fast and she is going to blog about it. She lives in New York and works for Vanity Fair and decided to come up with this new experiment. I just wanted to pass what she is doing along because I think it is for a good cause. Follwed by a message from Cassandra; As some of you might already know, I am determined to give up shopping for clothes, shoes, jewelry, and handbags for one year...And I am going to blog about it. I would love it if you follow as I stumble and strive to meet my goal on:
The Fashion Fast at http://thefashionfast.blogspot.com
Please feel free to pass the link on, because by the end of the experiment, which concludes July 15, 2009, I will (hopefully) have gone 365 days without fashion self-indulgence and, if so, have accumulated a handsome sum to donate to a women's charity so they can purchase suits and other career attire for women in need. Again, I would love it if you took time to spread the word-- I need all the support I can get.
Pretty neat!
