The Big Move & Settling In

The past month has been a whirlwind and things are finally settling down. We packed up the South Carolina house and moved back on February 12th. What a chore it was! Moving cross-country is a lot more difficult than moving across town. But, since this was our second time we felt like pros and knew what we were doing (mostly).

We flew out to St. George while our truck driver Brian diligently drove our stuff cross-country. I thought I was going to have a good week to doing some painting and other things at the new house but to our surprise, Brian showed up with our stuff on a Thursday (only 4 days after we left)!!! So, I spent an entire 38 hours straight awake painting and getting things done at the house before our stuff showed up. It was fun in the moment (I haven't done anything like that since my college days) but it took a toll on me afterward. :0) The past few weeks we have been working on getting everything unpacked and finding a place for everything. I'm not sure that process will ever end but hopefully soon. LOL! Working out the logistics to get our cars out here didn't go so smoothly but they finally made it last weekend. We had to make a trip down to Las Vegas to pick them up. Planned on doing it all in one evening but the driver was delayed so we ended up spending the night and met the truck driver the next morning.

We are LOVING the new house and our new neighborhood and ward! The kids finally have a playroom that they can make a mess in and I don't have to get on their case to clean up every 10 minutes. They love having new friends and cousins to play with and being close to family. There is always something to do and someone to play with, something that we struggled with in SC. We are "home" and it is great!

Now it's time to get back into our regular schedule/routine of things. A big thank you to everyone that helped us out on both ends of the move! We can even rest a little easier now as we are in the process of ratifying a contract on our house in SC. Hooray!

I agree with Tia, let's see the inside of your house! I'm glad the move went smoothly and that you are loving life in St. George.
